No A.I.—Just me!

These pages weren’t whipped up by a robot. Every illustration is hand-drawn by a real human (hi, that's me!) who’s wandered the trails, peeked into the buildings, and fallen in love with the views. These aren’t generic images—they’re personal, thoughtful, and made with the kind of care no algorithm can replicate. It’s like a little piece of my sketchbook, just for you.

Crisp lines, clean prints

Each sketch is digitally traced to create smooth, high-quality vector lines while preserving the warmth and character of a hand-drawn image.

The result gives you crisp, clean lines that are satisfying to colour.

Printed on bright white paper, every page feels fresh to the touch—smooth under your fingers, ready for pencil crayons or markers.

The Illustrator

Rachel Pletz is an illustrator, designer, and the creative force behind Pletz Kreativ, where history meets art in the form of beautifully hand-drawn colouring books.

Creativity thrives in unexpected places!

My work is grounded in close observation of place. I use photography and drawing to study how buildings and landscapes are constructed, experienced, and altered over time.

Rather than seeking iconic views, I work through repetition and movement—circling structures, tracing edges, and returning to thresholds. I am interested in joints, transitions, and moments where materials meet air, ground, water, or light. These are the points where a place reveals how it works.

Photography functions as field research in my process. Images are gathered while moving through a site and are later used to reconstruct spatial experience through drawing and sequence. I privilege clarity over spectacle, and coherence over singular images. My work often takes the form of visual studies or narratives that unfold gradually, rewarding slow attention.

I am drawn to historic and built environments where human intention and environmental forces coexist. Wear, repair, and adaptation are treated as evidence rather than flaws. Through this work, I aim to help viewers understand places not as static objects, but as systems shaped by time, use, and context.
